Tips to help you stay safe on a night out
Check you have what you need - your mobile phone, money, keys, etc.
Eat before you head out for the night
Pace yourself when out drinking and know your limits. Drinking a glass of water or a soft drink between alcoholic drinks will help you not to get drunk.
To prevent drink spiking never leave a drink unattended. Also, before you accept a drink from anyone make sure you see it either poured or opened.
Avoid confrontation - It’s better and safer to walk away.
Look after your friends and don't leave anybody behind
Plan ahead -Know where you are going, how you are getting there and who you are meeting.
Get home safe - Always plan your return journey, and inform friends of your whereabouts. Take a taxi or walk home with friends. Avoid unlit and quieter areas if walking.
