Hi everyone!
It's your President Ellie, and each month I will be posting an update letting you know what I’ve been up to recently. This can range from events I’ve been to and meetings I’ve been a part of, to decisions I have made contributions to which benefit your student experience😊
Here is my first update of the year and I will be posting every month so you can keep up to date with what I’m getting up to!
October
- Opening of the refurbished Seaborne Library and filmed a tour of the new areas which can be found on our social media platforms.
- Attended meetings as a Grosvenor, to make sure that student experience influences conversation high up within the University.
- Discussion with AU about disability and inclusion within the University and how to make events on campus accessible to everyone.
- First Student Council meeting of the year, introducing members to our Officer Priorities and getting their feedback.
- Ideas workshop for SU wellbeing events throughout the year.
- Reflection meetings on September induction, collaborating with University departments to improve future inductions.
- Meeting with Careers and Employability to discuss the services they offer to students.
- Appointed new Student Trustees who will sit on our Trustee and Turnaround Boards to help influence change within the SU to benefit students.
- Catch-up with WonkHE to keep up to date with issues affecting students nationally.
- First Students in Chester Forum, where students can speak to Cheshire West and Chester Council about student views on living and studying in Chester.
