SUMMARY OF 2017/18

Another great year for Team Chester Ultimate!

This year we attended 6 tournaments, including UKU University Regionals for the first time a good few years! We bagged a win Varsity against Salford and won spirit at two of the tournaments we played.

We have had friendlies against Liverpool John Moores University and hosted a This Girl Can session with the ladies from Merseyside Ultimate.

Our team have had a great time bonding and building friendships through some great themed socials and taking part in some fun activities together.

It’s great to see that our members have taken part in playing ultimate outside of university by joining local club teams and playing at other tournaments. We are getting the name of Team Chester Ultimate out in the frisbee community and are building great relationships with other teams!

This year our club has grown in membership from last year and we can’t wait to see even more next year.

Team Chester Ultimate have been doing their part to get involved within the local community! We have built up a great relationship with Sarl Williams Care Home and have hosted afternoon tea and a wine and cheese evening. These visits have been a great success and we have personally been invited back by the care home for them to host us! We have also made our impact in schools by taking part in Passion For Learning, teaching young children the fun and exciting sport of ultimate.

This year we have been fundraising for the Samaritans charity, who offer emotional support to those in distress. Our fundraising events have included wrapping Christmas presents, hosting a mini-tournament for those who have never played ultimate and hosting a pub quiz at the Students Union.

We have had a great year fundraising and taking part in the community and can’t wait to build on this more next year!

In ultimate frisbee everyone knows that Spirit is the real winner!

This year we have managed to win spirit twice, one of which was at UKU Regionals, making Chester the most spirited university team in the north!

At Bangor Senseless (Bangor university tournament) we took 5th place, making us the highest placed university team at the tournament.

Team Chester Ultimate take pride in our involvement within the community and are proud to have built up such a great relationship with Sarl Williams Care Home and the Passion for Learning team.

PLANS FOR 2018/19

We can’t wait to continue growing as a team next year and hope to start playing more competitively and get ourselves some wins!

We have several great ideas for fundraising events for Student Minds and want to keep on getting our name out there in the local community.

Here’s to another great year for Team Chester Ultimate!
