SUMMARY OF 2017/18

We have had the most amazing year, but of course it can always get better! This year started with some fantastic taster sessions which hundreds of fresher’s attended, and enjoyed them so much they decided to join our dance family! From then on it was onwards and upwards, with us having the funniest time in classes, smashing chorography on stage, achieving a whopping 18 trophies across 3 competitions, and just having the best time as a dance team. We have worked so hard to out-do ourselves at competitions and to reach our £3000 charity target, and that effort did not go unnoticed… This year as well as our 18 trophies, Chester Dance were awarded The Members Choice Award, Female Sports Personality of the Year and the big one SPORT OF THE YEAR! We cannot wait for another exciting year with new members, and we can’t wait to meet you in September!

This year we have done a range of things for as many charities as possible! We have spent the year raising awareness about mental health, with many of our dancers participating in the CSU Wellbeing Week and our committee member Beth raising awareness about sexual assault and rape across events and competitions. We have absolutely smashed our charities target raising a total of £3024.41!!! We achieved this through charity catwalks at Debenhams, Marie Curie bucket shaking days, our Christmas Showcase, individual dancers participating in the Great North Swim, and our WORLD (well university) FAMOUS, CHESTERS BEST DANCE CREW, where we teach typically non dancing teams a routine and they battle it out against each other!

  • Sport of the Year

  • Members Choice Award

  • Female Sports Personality of the Year

  • 18 Trophies Across 3 Competitions- including Best Choreography and Best Male Dancer

  • Best Team Spirit

PLANS FOR 2018/19

We want to just keep growing, making new friends and continue to out-do ourselves! We want to achieve 18 trophies or more across competitions and smash our £2000 target! We would also love to continue our work raising awareness and participate in more volunteering days with the local homeless shelter and elderly peoples homes.
