SUMMARY OF 2017/18

The hockey team over the year went from strength to strength. We started the year with limited numbers and ended the year almost winning the league, after losing 3-2 the league winners. The team as a social group was very successful meeting up regularly, doing off and on campus events.

The hockey team engagement in charity and community over the last year, was not the strongest other than the mixed charity game we did with women’s hockey. This is something we learned from as a team and look to majorly improve in the next year.

  • Winning varsity on a penalty shootout.

  • As a team we challenged for the league title which was something we did not think was going to possible at the start of the year.

  • The team felt very close and everyone had tight friendships within which had not been about in previous years.

  • Team socials were on every week with almost everyone attending them, week in and out.

PLANS FOR 2018/19

  • Plan to win the league with the team and the new freshers.

  • Host a lot more charity events.

  • Even more social events for the team, including trips in Manchester/ Chester/ Liverpool.

  • Continue the high of where we left off in the previous year.
