Chester Students’ Union (CSU) is delighted to have hosted its first ever housing awards on Tuesday 4th June. CSU President Ben France has worked closely with the Advice Team throughout the academic year to fulfil one of his election pledges by creating the Housing Merit of Excellence Awards (HoME), which we can safely say were a huge success!
The HoME Awards were brand new for the 2018/19 academic year. Students nominated providers in four categories: Private Landlord of the Year, Lettings Agent of the Year, Purpose Built Student Accommodation (PBSA) of the Year and Halls of Residence of the Year. Throughout the process, Ben’s mission was to establish an unbiased award which recognises excellence in housing standards and services.
With that in mind, we’re delighted to announce the 2018/2019 HoME Award Winners!
Private Landlord of the Year: Hoots
Lettings Agent of the Year: Chester Student Rentals
PBSA of the Year: The Towpath
Halls of Residence of the Year: Grosvenor House
The President hopes this new initiative will improve student housing in the Chester rental market and said this about the awards evening: “It was a cracking night and I am so pleased with the turnout. I want to say a huge thank you to all the students who took the time to submit a nomination; these awards could not function without your input. Massive congratulations to all the winners – it was well deserved!”
CSU is aiming for the HoME Awards to become a recognised mark of quality in the Chester market and, in future years, something all providers can aspire to achieve. Thanks again to everyone who came along!
