Returning back from development week can sometimes be a bit dreary and slow. Because of this, Chester Students’ Union (CSU) wanted to announce some positive, good news. Last week, the Union secured an exclusive three-year sponsorship package with local letting agency, BED student rentals (BSR).

Seemingly, housing is hot on the agenda currently as the partnership has been agreed during a time where many University of Chester students are looking for private accommodation for the next academic year, CSU have announced plans to run a housing fair in late November and have just launched their housing & accommodation awareness initiative, Think Before You Ink.

The collaboration between CSU and BSR is an attempt to collectively champion quality student housing in Chester. This is something that Ben France, CSU President is incredibly passionate about and featured heavily in his manifesto. Ben France noted “the new relationship forged between the Union and Bed is a positive start to providing students with easier access to improved accommodation standards in Chester and is a friendship that is desired to grow in the future, to continue the campaign on championing quality student housing”.

CSU and BSR will be working together closely on finding students suitable, safe and appropriate houses in Chester. BSR will feature on various advertisements across Union platforms and towards the end of the academic year, we will be working together on elements of 2019 Freshers’ week.

Mike Hannigan, director of BSR was pleased to collaborate with CSU and explains “we are delighted to be getting into Bed with the Students’ Union in exclusive association for the next three years. CSU do a fantastic job when it comes to advising students on housing and we are fully behind the ‘Think Before You Ink’ Campaign. We pride ourselves on bringing students and reputable, well recommended landlords together. The team here at BED are thrilled to be helping all students have a great experience at the University of Chester.”

BSR advertisement will be featuring on CSU promotions in the future and will also be attending the Housing Fair in CSU Bar & CH1 on Thursday 29th November.
