As part of International Women’s Day 2019 Chester Students’ Union has been tackling the issue of Period Poverty, as a result we have donated 180 sanitary products to Chester Aid to the Homeless and Blacon High School. The Students’ Union has also teamed up with The Red Project, an organisation that aims to tackle Period Poverty within local schools. Ben France, CSU President said: ‘it is fantastic that we are now working with The Red Box Project. Students at the University can now donate unused sanitary products which will be gifted to those who need them the most. This is a brilliant scheme that allows students to give directly back into their local community’. If you wish to donate to The Red Box Project there are several donations points across the Parkgate Campus (in the SU reception, Westminster and in the Gym). If you wish to donate to CATH a donation point has been set up in the SU reception area for donations of all toiletries.

Chester Students’ Union believe that access to sanitary provisions should be available to those that need it without any barriers, as a result we are continuing to provide free sanitary products throughout our Student Union toilets.
