About Our Group

International Society
UOCIS: University of Chester International Society

The International Society is a place where international students at Chester gather and get to know each other. Although it is an international society, yet British students are more than welcome to join the society, as they are considered foreigners to other nationalities.

During the academic year, the society will run a variety of activities, including trips to touristic places around the UK, weekly social gatherings, night/day trips in the city, and many more activities that can increase the knowledge of international students about the country, improve their English and give them an unforgettable social experience.
There is also the opportunity for members to get involved in organising cross-cultural events, like international food, music or fashion festivals. All of which would enhance the cultural experience of students and increase their knowledge on other cultures.

The society also offers full mental and academic support for international students who are struggling during their studies.

Our values are:

  • To help international students adapt to their life in Chester
  • To promote cultural and racial diversity at the University of Chester
  • To create a comfortable environment for international students at the university
  • To expand the horizons of students by offering a global interactive environment
