University of Chester Running Club is a relaxed community of friends, which is what makes it great. With four runs a week, there really is something for everyone.
This year, the Running Club have managed to complete various challenges, with a large group completing the Chester Half Marathon in May this year. However, while there is no pressure from the community to partake in such massive runs there is an amazing amount of support from the society. Being a new club this year, no one could have expected the successes that were achieved with the Running Club winning Best New Club at the University of Chester Sports Presentation and our President, Alannah Bolton, winning Sports Personality Female at the same awards evening.
  • Park runs are ran every Saturday with several different locations to spice things up.
  • Socials are laid back for our society with a mix of meals, walks and the classic nights out.
  • The end of term meals are a way to catch up with all the friends you make.
  • Charity fundraising is a large part of the running community with all our members taking part in some form of fundraising over the year; running a marathon together, karaoke and silly runs all to raise money for good causes.
  • Overall, the University of Chester Running Club has made sure that their first year as a club has been amazing and it is on to the next one.
  • One of the University of Chester’s newest clubs, the Running Club won Best New Club/Society for 2016/17 in the Students Union Sports Awards.
  • A fully inclusive club, catering for all abilities from newbies to experienced and seasoned pros, we even have a walking section!
  • We get together up to 5 times a week, and look to put a session on to cater to all types, long, short, slow and fast. We’re a very sociable bunch so no-one is left out!
  • We take part in local events from the numerous Park Runs in the area to the Chester Half Marathon. More races to come in 2017/18.

Fancy working up a sweat, before a pint in the SU? Come and give Running a go!
