University of Chester Running club is now going into its third year as an official sports society. The club is open to runners of abilities. Our current members range in ability from people who were completely new to running at the beginning of the year, to people running in 10k, half marathon, marathon and ultra-marathon events, to people who have represented their country. We meet twice a week for our club runs which range in distance but are normally around 5 kilometres. A number of members also attend parkrun in Chester on a Saturday morning, and we’ve also been to other parkruns in the area, including Delemere and Wepre. Socials are held almost every Wednesday and are a great way to get to know other members of the club, and other clubs, in a fun and friendly environment. We are very passionate about our club, and hope to see it grow in size and strength this coming year. We hope to meet new members, take part in a number of races (with particular focus on the Chester 10k, Half Marathon, Marathon and Metric Marathon) and raise money for our chosen charity, Claire House Children’s Hospice.
