Welcome to the homepage for the University of Chester Futsal Club. Futsal is one of the largest growing sports in the UK and the world. Futsal is a sport which demands superior ball control, fast footwork and precise passing. This is because Futsal players touch the ball 210% times more than in a traditional indoor football match. Famous football players such as: Pele, Maradona, Messi, Kaka, Xavi, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho and Fabregas have all recognised Futsal as a major reason for their foot skills and ability to think under pressure. Therefore, if you join our society, we will refine your quality and skills as well as showing you a good time.
This year Futsal is growing in size and will be represented by three teams in the BUCs league. Having only been a University society for 6 years, we have seen Futsal grow dramatically since its establishment. In Futsal there is family culture in the club, therefore, our doors are open to anyone who wants to experience this great sport! We are passionate about our club and hope you will join us and share our passion for the fastest growing indoor sport on the planet!
The season of 2017/18 saw both teams eager to impress in two very competitive leagues. The second team saw a very unexperienced group challenge for promotion and came very close in their first season as a team. The first team achieved phenomenal results with a league and cup double, registering a 100%-win record. These achievements saw the club receive the Students Union Special Recognition Award for 2017-18.
Next year we intend to use these results as a springboard to further success as all three teams will be representing the University at a high level.
