Welcome to the homepage of University of Chester Men’s Football.
We are a society comprised of 4 teams that compete in the BUCS leagues, the most competitive of which being the first team who will be battling in BUCS league 1A in the forthcoming season. However, it’s not exclusively our first team who maintain a high standard of football. With both the 1st team and 2nd team winning their respective leagues during 2017/18 season and a cup victory for the 3rd team, we boast a high level of football throughout the club.
We host trials for team selection at the start of the year, but there are still great opportunities for those who don’t quite make the cut initially. With the introduction of a Sports Activator role within the club, we aim to successfully run a 5th team who will be encouraged to train with, and play games against, the BUCS teams. This allows those not in a BUCS team to still be active members within the society, showcase their talent and potentially transition into one of our 4 teams at any point of the season.
Outside of football we are an extremely social and tight-knit society, with everyone in the club knowing one another creating a welcoming atmosphere. Due to the size of our society and the openness of our members, our weekly themed socials are second to none. Everyone Wednesday is a brilliant night whether we win, lose or draw!
We are a competitive, social club who consistently far exceed expectations within BUCS and want to build upon our already large achievements. So come on down during fresher’s week and become part of the team!
“After trials I was selected for the first team as a fresher. The football is extremely competitive however all the lads have been welcoming and made my first year in CMF one to remember.”- Conor Jackson
“All the CMF boys become like a second family to you. You train, win and lose together but at the end of the day it doesn’t matter because being in CMF is an experience I’ll never forget.”- Will Moynihan
“After suffering a serious injury early in the season everyone in CMF kept me involved in the club as much as possible. It’s a friendly atmosphere to compete within.”- Tom Marriott
“I’ve been a part of CMF for 3 years and can honestly say it was the best thing I have done a uni. Met so many good mates and have had countless memories that I’ll never forget. #w”- Che Wosik
