Welcome to the homepage for the University of Chester’s Cheerleading team! This year, we will be having all-girl Level 1, Large Pom, Prep Squad and group stunt teams, so there really is something for everyone, with no experience necessary.
If you have previously tried gymnastics, trampolining or dance and want something a little different, or perhaps a new challenge, give cheerleading a try! No longer is it just shaking pom poms, Cheerleading is a physically demanding sport, combining dance, gymnastics, jumps and sports acrobatics to make up an action-packed 2 minute 30 routine.
Our competitive teams compete across the country, with Cheer bagging 5 national titles in the past 6 years, while Prep Squad support Men’s basketball at their weekly games, giving a half time performance to the crowd.
We’re a friendly, welcoming bunch and would love to have you.
Once a Vixen, always a Vixen.
"I joined cheer because I love to dance but wanted to do something a little different with it. It was the best decision I’ve ever made because I’ve made the best of friends and my confidence has grown immensely. The feeling you get on the mat during competitions will be with me for a lifetime and I never want to give it up! - Chloe Harrison
"I have been on Chester Vixens for 2 years now and it has been a huge part of my University experience, especially being vice captain 2017-18 and now Club captain for the upcoming year. It has helped me both physically and mentally as I get to continue pursuing a sport I love throughout my studies as well as find tons of great friends I wouldn’t have met otherwise. I know its cheesy, but the Vixens really are a family." - Amelia Deponeo
"I’ve been on prep squad for three years, the team has become my family and it’s such a close fun group that has enabled me to keep fit and I’ve made friends for life on the team." - Summer Redford
"I really enjoyed the basketball games and performing during the half time. I also enjoyed the socials and the training sessions where we all got together and did games and practiced cheer skills." - Martha Stealey
