Welcome to University of Chester Athletics. We’re a fast-growing, inclusive and friendly club, accommodating of all disciplines and abilities. We train three times a week, twice on the track and once in the gym and also have weekly socials.
During the 2018-2019 season we will be preparing to compete in three BUCS competitions. We start with the Cross Country and Indoor Athletics Championships in February followed by the Outdoor Athletics Championships in May. In addition to these there will be a number of opportunities to compete in open meets and Northern League fixtures for West Cheshire Athletics Club with whom we have a really strong relationship.
As part of our partnership with West Cheshire AC as students we are provided with the opportunity to take coaching badges for free and gain experience of coaching the younger athletes at the club.
As a sport we have a wide range of members who either train socially and/or compete, from those who have started for the first time at University, to those who have picked it up again or those who’ve competed from a very young age. We are truly a fully inclusive club and would love to see you come down to a social, training or maybe even compete with us soon!
Running faster. Throwing further. Jumping to new heights.

"Choosing to join athletics in first year was the best decision I’ve made at university. I love competing, the team is like a family and I’ve made friends for life". - Heather Miller
"Athletics is and individual sport but it’s the team that make it, supporting you through every part of university life, working hard to get the best for you, training can be tough but at the same time you are having fun with some of your best friends every week”. - Brad Spurdens
