The purpose of Rotaract is to provide an opportunity for young men and women to enhance the knowledge and skills that will assist them in personal development, to address the physical and social needs of their communities, and to promote better relations between all people worldwide through a framework of friendship and service.
Welcome to the homepage for the University of Chester Rotaract Society! This year we will be participating in many different events related to Rotaract and Rotary International. We will also be attending the annual Rotary International conference in Nottingham this year, as we did in Torquay last year!
Last year we worked with many different charities such as Purple Community Fund, who collect ring pulls and bottlecaps in order to help women in the Philippines and men in UK prisons by making accessories out of them; Chester Aid for the Homeless, who host an annual 'Sleepout' to raise money for their charity.
We also try and get the whole society together on occasion for society socials! This year we are planning a range of social events to meet all interests such as pub quizzes at the Red Lion, bowling, meals out, nights out, and events with our own Rotary sponsor of Saughall!
With your help we aim to progress on the collections we've already done, and to increase the number of events and charities we are able to work alongside. If you have motivation and inspiration to help others then this is the society for you! We will listen to any suggestions you may bring to the society, either for socials or fundraising!
We meet between once a week to once every other week and hope to see you at our next meeting!!!
Service above Self!
"I started Rotaract in my second year and have made many friends whilst working with so many different organisations and charities! This society has allowed me to connect with the community and enjoy the benefits of helping others. I would definitely recommend this society to anyone!" - Alicia Harrison
