We are just a small part of the worldwide family of Rotary. Rotaract is the 18-30s section of the Rotary Club
The purpose of Rotaract is to provide an opportunity for young men and women to enhance the knowledge and skills that will assist them in personal development, to address the physical and social needs of their communities, and to promote better relations between all people worldwide through a framework of friendship and service.
During last year, we worked alongside a number of charities in a range of capacities. These included working with Save Our Family; a local charity for the homeless, tending to their gardens, collecting ring pulls on behalf of the Purple Community Fund who makes accessories out of them to help disadvantaged women in the UK and in the Philippines, collecting stamps for guide dog and running bake sales for Comic Relief. We also attended the annual National Rotary Conference in Manchester.
This year we will be continuing with the ring pull and stamp collections and the bake sales but we are also looking to run a music festival, working with a drama group raising awareness for teenage domestic abuse, collaborating with other Rotaract clubs within the UK and work with Rise Against Hunger. We are also planning on attending the National Rotary Conference 2018!! We are also planning a range of social events to meet all interests such as pub quizzes at the Red Lion, trips to cafes, bowling, meals out, events with our Rotary sponsors; Saugall.
If you have a passion for making a difference in other people’s lives, developing professional and leadership skills, become a part of a worldwide community, then we are the society for you! We are your society for you to make your mark.
