The University of Chester Great War Society is run by a group of history students who wish to share their passion for learning about this terrible conflict through a combination of academic and practical learning. Our weekly sessions will be a mix of mini lectures about the First World War in general and ‘living history’ hands-on learning about the life of the men and women who fought in the conflict, the equipment they used and the arms and armour they fought with. We also hope to have occasional weekends out to visit sites of interest and museums. If you're interested in the Great War, history in general, or you are interested in trying living history, this is the society for you.
Our society meets once per week on Wednesdays 6pm-8pm in Beswick CBE 001. However, make sure to check our Instagram page each week in case we have moved times or rooms.
