Sports Presentation Nominations


Each nomination will be considered on its own merit by the President and the Sports and Societies Working Group and an approved Awards List will be circulated to Presidents.

  • Half Colours (Sport)

The award of Half Colours is made to final year students only.

  1. Players must have represented at Divisional or Regional level (i.e. North West BUCS) or a standard equivalent to this in their sport whilst at University.

The Sports & Societies Working Group will give consideration to players who would have undoubtedly met the requirements of the criteria for the award of Half Colours, but who, because of injury, have been unable to fulfil their commitment.

  • Full Colours (Sport)

The award of Full Colours is made to final year students only.

  1. Players must have competed at National Student level, or equivalent, e.g. National BUCS, Full Country representation or World Student Games whilst at University.

The Sports & Societies Working Group will give consideration to players who would have undoubtedly met the requirements for the criteria for the award of Full Colours but who, because of injury, have been unable to fulfil their commitment.

  • Playing Colours (Sport)

The award of playing colours can be made annually to students from any year.  They are presented at end of season meals not at the Awards Evening

Captains must submit nominations for this award on the official application forms for Playing Colours.

  1. 75% of team appearances for University Team (BUCS or equivalent) on behalf of Chester Students’ Union during the season.
  2. Regular Attendance at all training sessions during the season.
  3. A player must show the necessary team spirit and commitment to the Club.

  • Club Colours (Sport)

The award of Club Colours is made to final year students only.

  1. Players must have fulfilled 75% of Club appearances (Matches and Training) in a sport over three years and demonstrated the necessary Club spirit, commitment and sportsmanship.

Exceptionally nominations will be considered from HND Students or Post Graduates who have met the above criteria in less than the stated three years.

The Sports & Societies Working Group will give consideration to players who would have undoubtedly met the requirements for the criteria for the award of Club Colours but who, because of injury, have been unable to fulfil their commitment.

  • Sport Personality 2016-17 (Male & Female)

This Trophy is awarded to the Individual who is generally accepted as having given exceptional service to the Sports Union or one of its Clubs. The award is not judged solely on sporting performance but on all round basis taking such things as commitment to the Club plus organisational ability into consideration.

One nomination per sports club. You may not nominate a member in your club.

The application MUST be completed by the Club Captain.

  • Members Choice Award 2016-17 (Sport)

One nomination per sports club.

The members’ choice award is the club that have gone the extra mile and the sport you think has out shined from charity work to sporting performance. The choice is up to you!

You may not nominate your own sport.
