I’m Jamie, the elected Vice-President of Education for 2015/16 at Chester Students’ Union. It is my job to represent the student voice from an educational point-of-view.
As a Sabbatical Officer (Vice-President) I’m one of the key contacts for you as a student if you have any issues throughout the year, regarding any aspect of your university experience. We as a team are here to ensure that this experience is the best it possibly could be, and to make sure that you leave the University of Chester with more than just your degree!
Specifically as part of my role I help run the StARs scheme, to ensure that the student voice is heard throughout the academic departments, and to help promote positive change through feedback from students. I also organise the annual Above and Beyond Awards, which celebrates the success of both university staff and student representatives.
Throughout this year I will be carrying out the manifesto points I was elected on – such as ensuring alternative measures are put in place for placement students, overseeing an effective bus route for students on other campuses, lobbying the university for a reduction in deadline clashes, ensuring library facilities are accessible to everyone and making the Students’ Union as transparent and effective as it can be!
If you ever need to contact me, you can find me in the Union offices on the first floor of the building, or can email me at SUEducation@chester.ac.uk.
