Welcome to the homepage for the University of Chester’s Catholic Society AKA CATHSOC.

Matthew 18:20: When two or three are gathered in my name, there I am with them.

CATHOC is for all students at Chester Christian or not, it is simply a place where on a Sunday night at 7pm people come together in fellowship. We have a lot of fun at CATHSOC led by our priest Fr Paul. We go on trips around Chester and the North West where we link up with other University’s Catholic Societies, continue the excellent links with the local community and join together in prayer. We are incredibly passionate about our society and hope that you will join us and everyone at CATHSOC looks forward to seeing you in September.

The 2015/16 year was by far the most successful in the history of Chester CATHSOC. Led by our previous President Chloe Myrtle, we achieved 3rd position for best society of the year for the entire university! This really was an amazing achievement (but with your help could we finish higher?), especially because we have only been a society for a few years. In addition the society went on a pilgrimage to Rome, a week in which CATHSOC grew in friendship and faith and in beautiful weather we saw Rome at its very best. Not to mention we raised money for a charity called CalAid who help migrants with food, water and clothing in Calais through open mic nights (so if you are musical CATHSOC is for you.
